Pam Farley for Place Two
As a mother of two girls and Anderson Mill resident for 18 years, Pam Farley has found this neighborhood to be a fantastic place to raise children -- and hopes to see Anderson Mill continue its strong tradition of being a family-oriented community.

Pam's experience managing contracts, people, and projects during her careers as a network engineer and web designer/consultant will enable her to bring strong listening and analytical skills to a role as Director on the Anderson Mill MUD Board.

Concerned Citizen

In the past couple of years, out of recognition of a need for greater transparency at all levels of government, Pam has become involved in several statewide and national grassroots activism efforts -- and she would like to apply that same energy right here at home.  She will work to ensure that Anderson Mill residents are kept abreast of all facets of important upcoming issues in order that we may all be informed voters.

Thoughtful Planner

In 2009, in all likelihood, we have before us our ONE opportunity to vote YES or NO to the creation of a Limited District in the course of Anderson Mill's annexation to the City of Austin.  Under the current Strategic Partnership Agreement with the City, the Limited District (if approved by voters) would exist for ten years -- at which time the City would decide whether to keep it in place.  Pam Farley would like to see all options carefully weighed, and ideas and input from local residents thoroughly considered.

Fiscal Conservative

Also among Pam's top priorities is the prevention of "double taxation" scenarios.  In her opinion, residents of Anderson Mill should not end up paying twice (and in some cases THREE times) for the same services.  For example,

[One]:  With the formation of a Limited District, residents would end up paying property taxes to support Limited District maintenance of parks and pools -- when the City has already agreed to provide this service.

[Two]:  Meanwhile residents will be paying into the City of Austin tax base, and

[Three]:  a portion of proceeds paid by Austin Energy customers also goes into the General Revenue fund where some of those monies could be diverted to citywide park and pool maintenance.

Public Servant

As your MUD Director, Pam Farley will aim to preserve the facilities and resources that make Anderson Mill such a wonderful family neighborhood -- and to protect your pocketbook at the same time.
